Information for Parents

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education at Crookhill Primary.  This may be where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home or individual pupils may be waiting for test results or have tested positive but do not have any symptoms.

MIcrosoft Teams Meetings

We are excited to introduce online class meetings where children can meet with their teacher and classmates using the Teams platform in Office 365.  You will need to use the same log in details to log into Teams as you do to access this email account.

To begin with, these meetings will not be ‘live lessons’ where the teacher is delivering or explaining new content.  Instead, it will be a chance for the teacher to talk through some of the work that is coming up that week, take feedback from children about the work they’ve completed and a chance for them to ask questions.  Teachers might read stories or do quizzes with the children.  It’s a chance to ‘socialise’ at a time when we are all finding the restrictions we are living with quite difficult.  Also, we miss our pupils and our staff are keen to catch up with their class.

Prior to your child’s first scheduled meeting, please read through the following practical tips and protocols for meetings and share them with your children.  We would ask you to reply to this email which we will take as an agreement to these on behalf of your child/ren.  Similarly, if you do not wish your child to participate in live meetings, please also let us know.

If you have any questions that you would like to raise with your child’s teacher, please do not use the meeting time for this.  You can email them as you would normally and they will respond to you as soon as possible.  Please also be patient – our first meetings may not go as smoothly as we would want them to and it may take a little time to iron out any issues that we have.

Children who are currently attending school will also be taking part in these meetings so please let us know if you do not wish them to do so.

Thank you, as always, for your support of our remote learning.
