    3D painting

    We have been using our knowledge of shades and tints to try and create a 3D effect when painting. First we had to draw the outline of the cup on to squared paper. We then used blue to paint it. We had to make sure each square was a different shade of blue to create a 3D effect.

    Programming shapes

    In ICT we have been learning how to create shapes using different codes. We found out that we could ‘shorten’ the instructions by using the word ‘REPEAT’ and the end product would still be the same.

    Shades and tints

    Year 4 have been exploring shades and tints. We started with the ‘true’ colour and then added black to make shades and white to make tints. We could see the different colours this created by gradually mixing black and white to colours. We will be using this knowledge in our next lesson...

    Bike4Health

    Year 4 have been taking part in Bike4Health sessions. Some of the class took part in a safety skills session whilst others had a go at learning to ride without any help. Well done, Year 4! We hope to work with the Bike4Health team again soon!

    Charcoal Art

    We have been trying to draw using tone and proportion. First we covered our whole page in charcoal dust and then we used a rubber to ‘draw’ the outline of the objects. We used charcoal pencils to add detail and tone to the pictures.

    Commando Joe

    In the Autumn Term, we took part in Commando Joe sessions. In these sessions, we worked as a team to build the tallest structure, to memorise patterns, to guide our team through a path way of hoops and to use equipment to move other pieces of equipment without dropping them.
