We have had a fantastic time learning about The Queen and the history of her reign. Each class studied a decade from the last 70 years, finding out about important events and people, and the music, fashion and trends from the different decades. The week finished with a special assembly when we sang our ’Here’s to the Queen’ song and waved our flags. In the afternoon, families joined us for our amazing Platinum Jubilee Fayre. Year 6 did a super job of creating fairground stalls like ’The Jubilee lucky dip’, ’Pin the tail on the corgi’ and ’The Queen’s Handbag human fruit machine’. It was a fabulous afternoon and wonderful to be able to welcome parents and carers back into school.
