Plant investigation

We have been learning all about plants. We know that plants need certain things to survive and thrive and we also found out that plants are called producers because they make their own food.

We investigated what would happen if we put a Basil plant on the window sill, in the light and one in the cupboard, in the dark. Both plants were watered over the course of the investigation.

After a few days, we compared the plants and found that the one in the dark had wilted and drooped. The one on the windowsill was still green and standing tall. We think this is because the one on the window sill could use sunlight to produce food.
