The children in Year 5 visited the Great North Museum today to learn all about the Ancient Greeks. They started with a Fighting Forces workshop where they learnt about the Greek Hoplites and and got to try out their equipment. After that, they explored the galleries and completed a scavenger hunt around the Ancient Greek gallery which encouraged the children to look carefully at the artefacts. Finally, the afternoon was spent completing different activities based on the Ancient Greeks that used the primary sources in the museum. A great day was had by all!
