Year 1 have had a fabulous last week learning about the 1970’s. We started the week by looking at fashion trends in the 70’s and made our own tie-dye t-shirts. We played some games from the 70’s, our favourites were Space Invaders and Pong! To finish the week, we learnt all about the Queen. This included a trip to Crawcrook library to share the story The Queen’s Handbag and to make our own bags! Once we returned to school we wrote our own letters to the Queen to congratulate her on her Jubilee and to tell her what we had planned to celebrate the event. All of our letters were posted to Buckingham Palace! Finally we ended the week by completing crafts, having a picnic lunch on the field with our friends and having a lovely time at the Platinum Jubilee Fair!
