Building catapults - Autumn 2014
Class four have been working hard on their Design Technology project - build a Roman Catapult. We began by looking at how a Roman catapult worked and then we investigated different features of the catapult. Then we set to work on making our very own minature Roman Catapults, learning new skills such as measuring and cutting wood and how to strengthen the joins by using cardboard triangles. It was fantastic to have so many people join us on open afternoon to help with the contruction of the catapults. It was a sticky afternoon with all the glue that was required to hold the pieces of wood together!
We are so pleased with the finished results and had great fun testing them out and measuring how far our catapult missiles would fly.
